The beautiful days are coming back and, with this sunshine, you want to enjoy your balcony? Nothing could be more normal! However, it is sometimes difficult to quietly enjoy your outdoor space when you live in the city and are surrounded by neighbours. Neighbours who also take advantage of the good weather to invest their balcony.
How can you gain a little privacy on your balcony when it is exposed to the opposite side of the house?
1 - CREATE A PLANT BARRIER
This is undoubtedly the most pleasant solution. In addition to being visually very beautiful, it allows to keep the brightness. The concept is simple: arrange the plants strategically to create a plant wall that cuts off prying eyes. You can then accumulate the pots at the foot of the balcony railing, or prepare large planters in which you will come to plant your plants.
As far as the plants to be used, we advise you :
- bamboos, easy to maintain and ideal to plunge you into the atmosphere of the beautiful days.
- the laurel, which has the advantage of keeping its leaves all year round. You can choose the oleander, which gives very beautiful flowers but which you will have to bring back in winter. You can also opt for the oleander sauce which is edible and resistant to cold (up to -15°).
- boxwood, which also retains its foliage throughout the year and is very resistant to winter temperatures.
- Climbing plants, which you can run over a wire mesh frame to create a real plant wall.
